THE ROLE
Unit is currently looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team and take ownership of both infrastructure and cloud security aspects. This position will contribute to the security and reliability of Unit's infrastructure, offering an opportunity to combine expertise in DevOps practices with a strong focus on ensuring our cloud environment remains secure and resilient as we grow.
The desired candidate should be well-organized, highly motivated, and (hands-on) experienced in both cloud infrastructure and cloud security. They will collaborate closely with the existing DevOps, CTO and security team to constantly drive improvements in technical architecture, security standards, and operational routines. We're looking for a true team player who can make an immediate impact within our growing organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure using best-in-class DevOps practices.
Oversee development activities to ensure the security of data, infrastructure, application and internal development-lifecycle workflows such as the company’s CI/CD pipelines.
Define, implement and own the technical and operational tools and controls, to allow a timely identification and correction of weaknesses, misconfigurations and vulnerabilities in our constantly-evolving security posture within the cloud.
Constantly assess potential threats to the organization's systems and data, translate to business impact and and prioritize efforts based on their potential business value.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps
At least 3 years of proven experience with one of the major cloud providers (AWS preferred).
Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform is an advantage).
Deep understanding of Cloud Security aspects such as identity management, networking, data policies and secret management.
Proven experience in managing and maintaining production-grade Kubernetes clusters
Deep understanding and hands-on experience with containerization and Docker
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Ability to understand business needs and constantly balance security-related tasks with business value
Desire to understand the company’s product and develop a streamlined communication and language with the product and engineering team
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Effective problem-solving skills, independent
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
