ICT Operations Specialist - Network Security Services
We are looking for a ICT Operations Specialist - Network Security Services for our Huntersville, NC facility. The ICT Operations Specialist - Network Security Services is a vital position within the IT Infrastructure team, responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of network security solutions. This role ensures the security and resilience of Oerlikon’s network infrastructure, protecting against cyber threats while maintaining high performance and availability. The job holder collaborates with other IT teams and external partners to deliver secure, reliable, and cost-effective network security services that align with business needs and compliance requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and web application firewalls.
- Respond to and resolve network security incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Implement configuration changes to network security devices in accordance with change management processes.
- Monitor network traffic to detect and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Support the deployment of new network security technologies and updates to existing systems.
- Collaborate with the IT security team to enforce policies and implement security best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network security configurations, incidents, and processes.
- Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Ensure high availability and performance of network security systems in line with defined SLAs.
- Provide timely resolution of network security incidents and implement root cause analysis.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver detailed and accurate documentation for network security operations.
- Deliver consistent, reliable network security services to support business operations.
- Develop and refine operational procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the organization's overall cybersecurity posture through proactive measures and incident response.
- Act as a subject-matter expert on network security operations.
- Provide guidance and technical support to other team members and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of network security processes and practices.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in network security operations.
- Hands-on experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VLANs.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA Security, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Proficient in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting network security solutions from vendors such as Cisco.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex network security issues.
- Ability to monitor and analyze security events using tools such as SIEM platforms.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline operations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to staying current with emerging network security threats and technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles and integration with on-premises systems.
- Experience in implementing zero-trust network architectures.
- Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies outside normal working hours
- In compliance with U.S. Government technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and CMMC you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
