The Information Technology team is seeking a Cybersecurity Technician to provide both technical and compliance support to students, faculty, contractors, and staff. This role involves resolving technical issues, maintaining the security of company equipment and servers, and ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection regulations such as GDPR and ISO 27701.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid.

Responsibilities

Your role as Cybersecurity Technician will involve:

 

  • Technical and Compliance Support:
    • Provide support in resolving technical incidents and inquiries related to information security.
    • Advise on best practices in data protection and regulatory compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Implement and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27701, and other privacy regulations.
    • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and risk analyses related to data protection.
  • Security Management:
    • Assist in the installation and configuration of security devices and software, ensuring alignment with current regulations.
    • Participate in server and system management, ensuring compliance with security and privacy standards.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have:

 

  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
    • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) are preferred.
  • Languages:
    • Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security departments, preferably in technology companies or consulting firms.
    • Experience in implementing and managing Privacy Information Management Systems (PIMS) based on ISO 27701.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Understanding of network systems, servers, and communication protocols.
    • Familiarity with security management tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its practical application.
    • Understanding of ISO 27701 and its integration with Information Security Management Systems.
    • Ability to conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and manage risks associated with data protection.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Ability to develop and execute security and privacy training programs.
    • Analytical skills to assess and mitigate security and privacy risks.
    • Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders and promote compliance practices.
