The Security Services Department’s overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

Who Are We?
Strategy and Project Management Office (SPMO): We are a team of security professionals focused on driving strategic planning, continuous improvement and project management for the Security Department. The group is responsible for developing and implementing the department strategic plan, supporting strategic enterprise projects, and providing project management expertise and execution oversight. The group is also responsible for leading the Continuous Improvement Team, and is primarily responsible for assessing process efficiency and strategic plan alignment across the Department and Laboratory.
Key Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7-10 years of relevant experience
* 3-5 years of leading small-medium projects, managing stakeholders
* Proficient in O365 (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Executive status creation and reporting, events and meeting facilitation
* Clear understanding of a matrixed organization
* Ability to operate as a project lead with SPMO guidelines and best practices
Preferred Requirements:
* Familiarity with security management software, such as SIMS and government databases such as DISS (Defense Information Security System)
* Working in a Center of Excellence (COE) or Project Management Office (PMO)
To work with MITLL, all employees must meet certain basic requirements.
* The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret level security clearance
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
* Successfully pass a background check
What will you do?
Join a team of security professionals that are driven to solve complex security problems in collaboration with Security leadership and staff. The knowledge, skills and abilities you must possess include:
* Project Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for executing high-visibility, high-risk and complex SSD projects in collaboration with other operations Departments and research Divisions; possess extensive organizational skills; be a self-starter; and have the ability to drive projects with SMEs across the Laboratory. Scope, schedule and stakeholders’ management will be critical requirement for assigned projects. The individual will be also responsible for providing a regular status to reporting manager, SSD leadership, and project leadership.
* Continuous Improvement: The Security Administrator (SA) will support the Continuous Improvement efforts across SSD, be responsible for assessing end-to-end process efficiencies, ensuring process documentation, and publishing in coordination with Business Transformation Office (BTO). With the support of Line Managers, SA will establish clear ownership of processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement framework across SSD.
* Executive Reporting and Excellent Facilitation Capability: The SA will create, coordinate and lead in-person & hybrid status meetings at various levels, and design, administer and host multi-day off-site events with Security Leadership.
* Leadership: The SA will have experience of leading the project teams in order to provide both tactical and strategic guidance; support them in executing strategic plans and projects. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are a necessity.
* Goal-driven mindset with a focus on relationship building: The SA will drive results driven conversations and manage conflicts by building relationships, gaining individual contexts, and keeping the big picture in mind.
