Job Summary
Metrology Compliance Technician is responsible for supporting the local Quality program, including specialized inspection, and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, quality tools for problem solving and assessment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provides specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including specialized inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, quality tools for problem solving and assessment. Creates inspection reports stating the conditions of a work area to ensure requirements are met. Makes recommendations for corrective action. Applies knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution. Implements principles of performance evaluation and prediction methods are used to improve product systems safety, reliability, and maintainability. Responsible for maintaining quality standard of products and the procedures and materials that go into work scope. Aligns quality management function with the performance needs of product lines. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field. Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 2+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
Basic Qualifications
Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
BS degree or applicable technical training and certifications in related field.
In lieu, 5+ years of directly related experience.
Knowledge and practical application of standard processes to ensure the maintenance of an accredited Quality System ISO9001, Z-540.1, AS9100, ISO17025, and NIST traceable certificates of compliance.
Technical competency in one or more of the following: linear, dimensional, pressure/vacuum, mass, temperature, torque, force, and vibration equipment including calibration and component level troubleshooting.
U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
Military PMEL/TMDE training preferred.
Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plus.
Previous customer service experience is a plus.
Ability to develop, organize and complete tasks and projects using software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with automated testing of IM&TE.
Salary Range 90,000 to 100,000
