About the RoleThe Senior Director of Security Operations will oversee Business Wire’s security infrastructure, focusing on advancing cloud and data center security while ensuring the day-to-day protection of digital assets, systems, and personnel. This leader will manage the organization’s security operations team, implement cutting-edge security technologies, and lead incident response efforts to maintain a secure and resilient environment.

What You'll Do

  • Mentor and lead a team of security professionals to protect company systems and customer data.
  • Enhance the overall security strategy for Business Wire's cloud and data center environments, data, code, and applications.
  • Implement advanced security controls and technologies, such as SIEM, Microsoft Defender, and Abnormal Security to monitor and protect the organization’s assets. 
  • Improve data encryption, access controls, and secure coding practices to ensure the integrity of critical systems.
  • Manage and improve security governance frameworks, including controls, standards, policies, and guidelines, while balancing security needs with user experience and usability.
  • Plan for and respond to security incidents, establishing processes to minimize their impact.
  • Conduct periodic penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal security benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Architecture, DevSecOps, IT Operations, Program Management, and Business Operations to align security strategies with organizational goals.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to build and manage high-performing security teams.
  • Ability to foster collaboration and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Strategic thinking to develop forward-looking security operations strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate technical requirements into actionable business solutions.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in Information Security, with 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven expertise in cloud security including SIEM, Microsoft Defender, and Abnormal Security, etc.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements such as PCI DSS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with external and internal stakeholders including executives. Ability to deliver constructive & encouraging feedback.
  • Proactive, organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and persistent.

    What We OfferThe base salary range for this position is $250K to $265K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
