Position Summary

The Cybersecurity Supervisor oversees cybersecurity operations of Minnkota Power Cooperative, leading a team to protect the cooperative's IT infrastructure and data from cyber threats. This position develops and implements security strategies, ensures compliance with industry regulations, and manages incident response. This role requires strong leadership and in-depth cybersecurity knowledge.

The pay range for this position begins at $131,026 per year. Appropriate compensation will be determined based on a candidate's skills, education, and any previous relevant experience. 


Essential Responsibilities

  • Cybersecurity Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity policies, procedures, and plans aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Lead the creation of a long-term cybersecurity roadmap to address current and future threats.
    • Collaborate with IT leadership to integrate cybersecurity into the overall IT strategy.
    • Security Operations:
      • Oversee day-to-day cybersecurity operations, including monitoring, detection, incident response, and threat analysis.
      • Ensure timely identification, assessment, and remediation of security vulnerabilities and incidents.

    • Compliance and Risk Management:
      • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., NERC CIP) and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
      • Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate risks.
      • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

    • Stakeholder Communication:
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for cybersecurity-related matters within the organization.
      • Provide regular updates and reports to IT and OT leadership on cybersecurity status, risks, and initiatives.
      • Work closely with other IT teams, OT departments, and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to cybersecurity.

    • Team Management and Development:
      • Supervise and mentor a team of cybersecurity analysts and engineers.
      • Manage the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of the cybersecurity team.
      • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field OR equivalent combination of experience and education required

    Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity required
    • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and NERC CIP.
    • Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
    • Strong understanding of network security, cloud security, and incident response protocols.
    • Experience with security assessment tools and techniques, including penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and threat intelligence analysis.
    • Ability to:
      • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
      • Maintain effective working relationships.
      • Manage time and priorities effectively
      • Work efficiently with minimal supervision
