Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with key technologies such as Active Directory, Entra, VMWare, Veeam, Endpoint Central, Sonicwall, Mimecast, Windows Administration, and Network Administration. The System Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting the IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, and providing security, reliability, and support for a wide range of systems and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Active Directory & Entra Management: Administer and manage Active Directory, user accounts, security groups, and policies. Integrate and support Microsoft Entra for identity and access management solutions.
- Virtualization: Maintain and support VMWare infrastructure, including the creation, management, and troubleshooting of virtual machines and virtual environments.
- Data Backup and Recovery: Manage Veeam backup solutions, ensuring comprehensive data protection strategies, backup integrity, and effective disaster recovery processes.
- Endpoint Management: Oversee endpoint management and monitoring using Endpoint Central, ensuring all devices are properly managed, patched, and secured.
- Network Security: Administer and configure Sonicwall firewalls, ensuring secure network access, threat prevention, and optimal traffic flow. Perform regular firewall policy updates, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Email Security: Manage Mimecast security tools to protect the organization’s email environment from threats, such as spam, malware, and phishing attempts.
- Windows Administration: Perform day-to-day management of Windows Server environments, including installations, configurations, updates, patch management, and system troubleshooting.
- Network Administration: Oversee and maintain networking infrastructure, ensuring network availability, performance, and security across the enterprise. Diagnose and resolve network issues as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain system and network documentation, as well as produce reports on system health, performance, and incidents.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support for all IT systems and troubleshoot issues across multiple platforms. Serve as a point of escalation for complex issues and incidents.
- Security & Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards for security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role with expertise in the technologies listed.
- Strong experience with Active Directory, Entra (Identity and Access Management), VMWare, Veeam (Backup and Recovery), Endpoint Central, Sonicwall Firewalls, and Mimecast.
- Proficiency in Windows Server Administration and a solid understanding of network administration.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting network, system, and application issues.
- Familiarity with network protocols, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and related technologies.
- Solid understanding of security best practices and tools to secure systems and networks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
- Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact users.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
