BCBSNE is happy to offer three work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid, and 100% remote.
If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in one of the following states: Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Texas.

This position is responsible for the infrastructure and security of the company Microsoft Azure environment. This position will design, build, and configure the environment. This includes planning and implementing of the technology infrastructure and developing operational solutions to manage the environment. Provides support to both the business and security, by assisting with the deployment of security controls and processes. Performs as a primary resource during security incidents for appropriate action to be taken.

What you'll do:

  • Act as a technical expert for infrastructure and security related issues, to ensure the implementation of security tool sets that meet the business, security, and compliance mandates, while also protecting user data. 

  • Lead the security team in tactical and technical decisions.

  • Collaborate with technology leads to design and implement all aspects of the company Microsoft Azure environment and provides expertise on decisions/priorities regarding the overall system architecture. 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive set of security technologies and processes related to data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management. 

  • Responsible for developing, integrating and deploying new/existing security cloud technologies to include alerts, sensors, and tools. 

  • Configure network components and security rules around them. 

  • Document support procedures and train others on those procedures. 

  • Design and implement disaster recovery solutions. 

  • Configure and manage network and application security scanning solutions. 

  • Investigate new technologies and product opportunities that could be used to generate a competitive advantage. Create technology roadmaps for the domain solution portfolio. 

  • Assist with compliance initiatives and the implementation of specific controls to ensure compliance. 

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field. 

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in information technology/information services, including at least 4 years in information security. 

  • Expert knowledge of cloud security standards and industry best practices. 

  • Experience with systems management and automation, utilizing ARM templates and PowerShell. 

  • Strong communication skills including presentation to senior leadership. 

  • Strong collaboration skills, works well with ambiguity, works well across roles and groups. 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement. The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments. On-call work may be required based on business needs and role assignment. The ability to work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:

  • Experience with Operations Management Suite and Azure Security Center, Microsoft Intune and other Azure access control technologies, VSTS builds and automated deployments. 

  • Previous experience with project management processes and methodologies. 

  • Excellent cross collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams.  

  • Completed or in process of attaining certifications like CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security +, etc.
