Senior Director, Security Operations

Introduction to Team:


The Physical Security and Resilience team is responsible for shaping and executing the strategic direction of Expedia Group's global physical security and resilience program, along with associated risk management initiatives.


What you’ll do:  

  • Responsible for shaping and executing the strategic direction of Expedia Group's global physical security and resilience program.
  • Will oversee an enterprise-wide program and provide senior-level (strategic) leadership for the organization’s physical security and resilience risk management efforts.
  • Will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of physical security systems and technologies, manage security operations, develop strategies to mitigate risks to Expedia Group’s facilities worldwide, and establish robust governance.
  • Upgrade Expedia Group’s resilience program by improving its ability to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from highly disruptive events or threats while maintaining essential functions and minimizing the impact on operations, reputation, and stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing security team of employees and vendors, fostering collaboration and innovation while ensuring skill development and succession planning.

Who you are:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience along with a relevant professional certification preferred (e.g., CPP, PSP).
  • Minimum 5+ years in a leadership role and 10+ years in corporate or public sector security, with a preference for private sector experience.
  • Minimum 5+ year experience leading cross-functional teams; motivate and train team members to build organizational resilience.
  • Experienced with security technologies (access control, surveillance, cybersecurity) and data analytics tools to monitor metrics.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of risk, crisis and project management experience along with expertise in regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPPA).

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $244,500.00 to $342,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $391,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
