Network Engineer - Monterrey

What success looks like in this role:

Network Engineer with solid expertise in LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN technologies (VoIP knowledge desirable), along with specialized Cisco skills. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing modern, scalable network infrastructures, and providing network support for complex and high-availability systems, including security and cloud-based architectures.

The ideal candidate should have experience in network and security projects within critical 24x7 environments, particularly in medium-to-large-scale enterprises. They will also have experience in managed services for network and security infrastructure, including datacenters, NOCs, and SOCs. This professional will serve as a client-facing expert, managing reports, and acting as the main point of contact for projects with clients and global vendors.

Advanced troubleshooting skills are essential to resolve interoperability issues and ensure optimal performance across various platforms. Additionally, the role involves configuring systems, assisting with hardware/software acquisitions, and managing subcontracted services as needed. A broad technical understanding, including expertise in various network protocols, systems, and platforms, is key to success in this position.

• Network Design & Support: Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN). Support both remote and on-site for network issues, ensuring high network performance and security.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Handle troubleshooting across OSI layers and TCP, collaborating with manufacturers for escalations and issue resolutions.
• Security Management: Oversee network security, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems, and high-availability configurations such as HSRP and VRRP.
• Client Interaction: Lead client-facing roles, delivering reports, presentations, and acting as the key contact for projects with clients and vendors.
• Project Execution: Execute network and security projects, collaborating with global teams and vendors, and ensuring successful implementation in critical environments.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• Networking & Security Protocols:
  • Expertise in routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, OSPFv3, EIGRP, BGP) and Layer 2 protocols (VTP, STP, MSTP).
  • In-depth knowledge of VPNs, S2S, C2S, and network security protocols.
  • Experience with network security devices, including Fortigate Fortinet, Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Cisco ISE, Cisco Nexus, CheckPoint, F5 Big-IP.
• Technical Competencies:
  • Proficient in cloud and network security platforms like SolarWinds, ServiceNow, Infoblox, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in network monitoring tools and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Experience in handling data center, NOC, and SOC environments.
• Certifications:
  • Desirable certifications include CCNP, Fortinet NSE, CCNA, CISM, CISSP, ITIL, etc.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work in 24x7 critical environments, ensuring high uptime and security.
• Strong presentation and reporting skills for client-facing interactions.
• Willingness to travel and be on-call outside regular business hours and weekends.
• Hybrid role. Availability to work at the client's site in Monterrey.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in network and security support and implementation.
• Advanced proficiency in English for client and vendor interactions.
• Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field.
