Please note definition differences between Intern and Co-op:

Intern:  Student works full-time during the summer

Co-op:  Student works part-time while school is in session. Student may work more hours during the summer if not enrolled in classes. Students may work for a minimum of one semester or longer.

 

Both positions are paid according to current academic standing and job classification.

What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our Cybersecurity team in YNCA Canton,
MI.  The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 12, 2025, to August 15, 2025.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Project Work: As a Cybersecurity Summer Intern, you may be assisting in monitoring and analyzing security alerts, conducting vulnerability assessments, and supporting the implementation of security policies.  You may be participating in security audits, stay updated on cybersecurity trends, and collaborating with the IT team to enhance security measures.  Your project work may include developing security awareness programs, enhancing incident response plans, and conducting risk assessments.
  • Success Metrics:  Your success will be measured by the timely completion of tasks, the quality of your assessments, the effectiveness of security measures, and positive feedback from team members.  Your contributions will help improve the company’s overall security posture.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the cybersecurity team and other departments, participating in meetings and brainstorming sessions to develop innovative security solutions.  Clear communication of your findings and recommendations to stakeholders will be essential.

 

What you will bring to the table:

  • Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
  • Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or related).
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of network security principles and practices, familiarity with scripting languages, understanding of operating systems and key principles of information security.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
