Job Description:
The Senior Global Insider Threat Analyst will provide subject matter expertise and lead the implementation of the Insider Threat Program across McKesson's global enterprise. This role involves driving investigations of potential insider threat incidents and implementing proactive program measures to safeguard sensitive information.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute processes for the Insider Threat Program, including triaging anomalous events, evaluating reports, responding to and analyzing threats, and leveraging response playbooks with key stakeholders.
- Create and maintain use cases for detections in a User Entity Behavioral Analysis (UEBA) tool and other security monitoring capabilities to enable early warning and triage of various user behaviors.
- Conduct risk assessments focusing on trade secrets, salary data, proprietary data, strategic plans, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Protected Health Information (PHI), and IT systems.
- Identify and scope specific threats by collecting and analyzing evidence, making accurate observations, and developing judgments based on data while applying critical thinking.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and security awareness teams to identify top risks and new threat tactics, techniques, and procedures used by cyber threat actors that may lead to data compromise or exfiltration.
- Monitor unauthorized activities and conduct investigations according to procedures while adhering to legal and privacy requirements.
- Build and maintain processes, workflows, and technologies to detect and respond to high-risk insider activities.
- Evaluate existing behavioral constructs for detecting potential insider threats for applicability and effectiveness.
- Coordinate with Business Units (BUs), Information Security teams (e.g., SOC, Incident Response, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Digital Forensics), and other investigatory functions (e.g., HR, Legal, Compliance & Ethics) to remediate identified risks.
- Write clear, concise, and timely intelligence products that collate disparate information to develop a baseline of normal user and network device behaviors.
Minimum Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in information security operations with knowledge of regulatory or legal requirements impacting Information Security.
- Understanding of network and endpoint security principles, current threat trends, and security standards.
- Ability to deal with rapid technological and business changes while maintaining enthusiasm and sound judgment.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with effective communication abilities across all business levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in insider threat, counterintelligence, cyber threat intelligence, incident response, threat hunting, security engineering, or detection roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or social sciences (e.g., Psychology, Behavioral Economics).
- Certifications in one or more of the following: DOD Certified Counter-Insider Threat Professional (CCITP) Program, Carnegie Mellon Insider Threat Certificate Programs, or CISA Independent Study resources.
- Previous USG counterintelligence, HUMINT, law enforcement, or targeting training.
Additional Skills:
- Proactive in researching innovations in IT security and insider threat technologies to ensure McKesson delivers best practices and standards.
