Location: San Diego, CA, Pt. Loma
SSI is actively looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support a Navy Cybersecurity Network Defense contract in San Diego, CA, Pt. Loma. Work is hybrid with one day WFH possible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience with the design, development, implementation, and support of Cyber Security solutions for Navy C4ISR systems.
- Experience with Navy C4ISR systems and Security Specialist).
- Experience with Application Layer security principles, special security appliance/devices, and threat tactics to avoid security solutions (e.g. Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, Application Proxy devices.).
- Experience with the networks, and an understanding of IP Network Routing and Layer 2/3 Switching Protocol specialist (e.g. CISCO IOS/ASA identification of performance risk, and assessing vulnerabilities and threats against classified and unclassified network systems operating in a strategic, operational, and tactical environment
- Assist the High-Risk Review government lead in identifying requirements and developing policy and process changes to reformat HRR for the Navy using a critical approach to provide alternatives and customized recommendations to balance security and mission needs
- Strong understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and how HRR is determined
- Advise clients on the state of cyber policy and systems
- Experience working on complex cybersecurity projects and identifying cybersecurity capability alignment across integrated programs
- Defining security requirements and recommendations using standards, policies, etc.
- Leading meetings and developing presentations and briefings for use by senior leaders, stakeholders, and clients
- Analyze and communicate complex technical challenges to both technical and non-technical clients and stakeholders
- Minimum IAT Level II certification, a CISSP or equivalent IA certification preferred
- Minimum 7 years C4ISR cybersecurity relevant work experience.
- Desired, bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science discipline from an accredited college or university
- Active Secret security clearance
