In this role, you will join our Platform Security Team and help ensure the security and compliance of our IoT platforms while working alongside experienced security professionals. You will contribute to implementing and maintaining security controls across our infrastructure and applications. 

The Junior Security Engineer, reporting to the Director of Product Security, will focus on strengthening our security posture while learning industry best practices in a fast-paced IoT environment. 

With a flexible hybrid working schedule, you can enjoy the best of both worlds—engaging in-person collaboration at our Galway, Ireland office, while also enjoying the autonomy and comfort of remote work.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls across cloud and on-premises infrastructure 
• Support security assessments and vulnerability management programs
• Help monitor and respond to security events and incidents 
• Participate in security architecture reviews for new features and services
• Contribute to security documentation and process improvements
• Support security testing and validation efforts
• Assist in maintaining security compliance requirements 
• Collaborate with development teams to implement security best practices

Who You Are:

You’re a strategic thinker with a knack for operational excellence, ready to tackle multiple priorities with agility and grace. If you have: 

• 1-2 years of experience in information security or related field 
• Knowledge of security fundamentals including encryption, authentication, and access control
• Experience with security tools and technologies (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, WAF)
• Basic understanding of network security principles and protocols
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts
• Experience with security monitoring and incident response processes
• Knowledge of common security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS)
• Understanding of secure development practices and OWASP Top 10
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field

Preferred Skills: 

• Security certifications (Security+, CEH, or similar) 
• Experience with container security and Kubernetes 
• Knowledge of IoT security challenges and solutions 
• Familiarity with security automation tools and scripts 
• Understanding of compliance requirements (SOC 2, GDPR) 
• Experience with threat modeling 
• Knowledge of API security best practices 
• Basic penetration testing skills
