Senior Systems Administrator- Job Responsibilities:Position SummaryResponsible for the system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture for the SITTS Team.  Responsible for the design, validation and implementation of changes to information systems.  Responsible for primary support for SITTS business applications.  Responsible for system monitoring backup and restore procedures to ensure system and data availability.  Responsible for meeting infrastructure security requirements.   Essential Functions: 
  • Provides direct support to cloud operational environments daily, including software installation, configuration, upgrades, security patches, and planned maintenance as required. 
  • Maintain cloud-based servers patching vulnerabilities, backup/restore operations, provision new servers, configure firewalls, and configure monitoring systems.
  • Monitoring overall site availability, latency and systems health with AWS EC2 instances
  • Provides incident response and assures service resolution for cloud systems
  • Performs root cause analysis, diagnostics, and monitoring on various production and non-production cloud systems
  • Effectively creates and maintains relevant cloud systems documentation and user guides
  • Secures cloud applications and data against loss and disasters
  • Respond timely to user requests for permission changes, files restores, virtual machine restores, new storage, and expansion requests
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and works with team members to implement efficiencies
  • Implementation of established security requirements. Implements safeguards to protect information against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure. Monitors information security reports and implement established security measures. Ensures the installation of patches, security files, control files and data access controls. Follows established procedures in the management of user system access to meet security requirements. Implements hardware and software security measures for transmission and storage of information.
  • Performs system monitoring using approved tools and processes to validate system health. Ensures backup and restore procedures to ensure system and data availability. Implements applicable portions of the company’s disaster recovery plan.
  • Responsible for the design of the information systems to meet customer requirements. Responsible for system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. Assists, where required, in the validation of end-to-end system functionality through unit and integration testing.
  • Collects, maintains and reports IT infrastructure information across distributed systems and multiple support groups. Updates IT documentation for systems and networks including all hardware and software components. Implements system changes by using established change management process to handle of all changes to improve day-to-day operations.
  • Performs problem resolution as appropriate by using applicable computing processes. Ensure the documentation of resolutions and analyses according to support procedures.
  • Assist team members in resolving complex problem resolution for information systems. Guides team members in completing assigned tasks and compliance with approved processes and procedures. Assist team members with task scheduling and priorities. Provides for team training and knowledge sharing on information systems topics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
Qualification Requirements:Technical bachelor’s degree and five or more years’ systems administration work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.Experience administering enterprise level systems using Linux, VMware, Windows Servers, Windows and OSX desktops.  Experience using network systems software including Anti-malware systems, Host and Network Based Intrusion Detection Systems, Radius, AWS SSM, LDAP, and Windows Active Directory.  Experience administering Cisco, Dell, and HP networking equipment.  Experience administering Dell servers and SAN systems.Familiarization with deploying applications in a Cloud environment.  AWS experience desired, but not required. Demonstrated leadership ability.  Excellent organizational and writing skills.
