Join Our Team as a Systems Security Engineer!

Are you passionate about cybersecurity and eager to make a difference in the aviation industry? Teledyne Controls is looking for a talented and motivated Systems Security Engineer to join our product security team. In this role, you'll use your critical thinking and analytical skills to support the definition, development, evaluation, and maintenance of the information security architecture and features of our connected airborne and ground-based products.

As a Systems Security Engineer, you'll be involved in both blue (defensive) and red (offensive) team activities to analyze, test, establish, and enhance the security posture of a variety of products, including airborne hardware/software, networks, and software-only (installed/web/cloud) products. You'll play a key role in ensuring that our product security features remain compliant with industry best practices while meeting or exceeding regulatory and customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Collaborate with engineering, program, and customer stakeholders to communicate security requirements and updates.
• Conduct testing and verification of security features and controls to ensure their effectiveness.
• Contribute to security reviews, including security/risk analysis, threat modeling, and penetration testing.
• Monitor for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and analyze their applicability to our products.
• Assist in running test scenarios to evaluate product security robustness.
• Participate in trade studies and evaluations related to product security processes and tooling.
• Support engineering teams in enhancing security architecture and design/implementations in new and existing products.
• Support customer-attended technical, preliminary, and critical design review presentations.
• Stay ahead of evolving security threats to maintain and enhance the security of Teledyne Controls' products.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of security features and controls for our connected products.
• Support security awareness, education, and communication initiatives.

Qualifications                                                 

• Bachelors (undergraduate) degree in engineering or other technical field.                           
• Basic understanding of Security Architecture principles, including cryptography, authentication, network security, and public key infrastructure mechanisms to secure product, network, and system boundaries, as well as inter-system communications.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including design and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of system design concepts and application development.
• Awareness of security implementations in cloud environments, such as AWS.
• Understanding of the design, auditing, analysis, support, and troubleshooting of security systems.
• Basic knowledge of embedded system security and Linux.
• Experience with scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell is a plus.
• Must be a US Person (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees)

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
