We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Operations Engineer to join our Information Protection team and enhance the security of sensitive data by developing and implementing advanced micro-segmentation strategies across all tenants. The candidate will play a pivotal role in reducing the attack surface, containing lateral movement, building intelligence and visibility for hunting teams, and preventing outward data exfiltration. The selected candidate will lead, collaborate, and engage within a highly functional and dynamic organization, including key partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement micro-segmentation threat visibility capabilities using the Illumio tooling and Kusto dashboards to identify high-risk patterns and topology mapping.
  • Enable micro-segmentation capabilities to partition Azure networks and reducing the attack surface across all tenants.
  • Deploy Illumio quarantining solutions to contain lateral threat movement within critical application flows across the Corporate tenant.
  • Define and maintain a micro-segmentation label schema.
  • Develop Azure engineering strategies to support micro-segmentation software full-stack implementation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), and operations incident response 
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure Functions, and Azure Automation.
  • Experience with Azure services, including Azure Synapse, Kusto, Azure SQL, and Azure monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of network engineering and security principles with understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Graph API.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification.
  • Five or more years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably within a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) team.

 

Security Operations Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
