Job Description:

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Director – Cyber Security is to support the Cyber Security operating plan, their functional area of responsibility and direction given by the Executive Director – Cyber Security. 

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage staff in accordance with corporate policies and guidelines.

  • Directs activity based upon the ISO Information Security Management System model, Plan-Do-Check-Act.

  • Considers the Cyber Security Operating Plan and direction from the Executive Director – Cyber Security when giving direction to team members.

  • Work in cooperation with other departments and teams globally.

  • Assist the Executive Director – Cyber Security in developing and giving presentations to senior management and the Board of Directors.

  • Creates and reports metrics as requested.

  • Delegate tasks and department assignments or projects, meeting deadlines related to those assignments.

  • Create and apply functional and technological processes and procedures in an atmosphere of constant and sometimes sudden change.

  • Create, implement and communicate cyber security strategies and solutions for appropriate data protection.

  • Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (staff and budgetary).

  • Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures.

  • Monitor team performance in all phases of service and job functions; rectify deficiencies.

  • Coordinate and mange compliance activities (PCI, SOX, Cyber Governance and Risk).

  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age.

  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States

  • Bachelor’s degree in an information technology or cyber discipline or equivalent work experience

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 

  • 7 years of experience in cyber security with at least 3 years managing a cyber-team

  • Previous experience managing and motivating employees to provide a high quality work product that is delivered on-time.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Work remotely as necessary.

  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.

  • Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
