Your Mission:
As a Software Reverse Engineer at ClearEdge, your mission is to analyze and reverse-engineer complex software and systems to uncover their behavior, functionality, and vulnerabilities. Your insights will enhance threat detection, strengthen cybersecurity defenses, and contribute to proactive security strategies.

A Day in the Life:

  • Conduct in-depth static and dynamic analysis of hardware, firmware, and software using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Document malware behavior and patterns, contributing to internal threat intelligence repositories with actionable insights for detection and defense.
  • Write comprehensive technical reports outlining findings and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Develop or enhance tools to streamline malware analysis processes.
  • Stay informed on emerging cybersecurity trends and the latest malware tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).

Must Have:

  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
  • 5+ years of experience in software analysis, reverse engineering, or related cybersecurity fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Expertise in low-level programming languages such as C, C++, and Assembly.
  • Proficiency with reverse engineering tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, OllyDbg, or x64dbg.
  • Experience with debugging and disassembly techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of operating system internals (Windows, Linux, macOS).
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization and sandbox environments (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox) for dynamic analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical findings to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and persistence in solving complex technical challenges.

Nice to Have:

  • Advanced understanding of malware types (viruses, worms, ransomware, trojans) and their attack vectors.
  • Familiarity with common obfuscation and anti-reverse engineering techniques used by malware.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and traffic analysis to understand malware communication.
  • Relevant certifications, such as OSCP, GREM, CEH, or similar cybersecurity credentials.
