Who we are looking for

The State Street Global Privacy Office is looking for a talented Privacy Engineer to become an integral part of our global privacy compliance team.  Demonstrated experience implementing Privacy by Design (PbD) practices and assessing Privacy risk related to new technology, including Artificial Intelligence.  A general knowledge of privacy compliance, data protection, risk, and/or audit disciplines is required. This role will work collaboratively with privacy leadership, the Global Privacy Office colleagues and business stakeholders to perform a variety of privacy management activities, deliver pragmatic advice, and assist in maintaining the privacy program.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, 4 days on site, 1 day remote. Permissible offices are: Boston, MA; Clifton and Princeton, NJ; Stamford, Connecticut.

What you will be responsible for

As a Privacy Engineer, Vice President you will

  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders in product development, information technology, legal, cyber security, and enterprise risk to embed Privacy by Design (PbD)-focused solutions.

  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) in accordance with Article 35 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Serve as the Privacy Office representative when assessing risk related to changing architecture or new technologies including impact related to emerging AI regulations.

  • Support State Street’s Information Protection efforts in collaboration with Enterprise Data Governance and Global Cybersecurity.

  • Support the Privacy component of our Third Party Risk Management process including review of due diligence questionnaires to understand services provided, personal data processed and residual privacy risk.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, information systems, or computer science

  • 6+ years of privacy, data protection, audit or risk experience

  • Understanding of global data privacy regulations, including the GDPR

  • Experience working cross-functionally on enterprise-wide programs

  • Experience working with remote / geographically dispersed teams

  • CIPT, CDPSE, CISA, or other relevant privacy / IT audit certifications preferred

  • English proficiency required

Salary Range:

$110 000 - $177 500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
