JOB PURPOSE:
Risk and Controls team is part of Group Controlling and it is a dedicated controls expertise team responsible for:
- Leading enterprise risk management and business risk assessment processes, including the Responsible Risk Management policy,
- Governing and defining global control frameworks to ensure business and legal requirements are met,
- Owning and delivering the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) management assurance processes and reporting, including alignment with External Audit,
- Developing training to embed a risk and controls culture across the organisation.
Controls Excellence Manager – IT & Access Controls will be responsible for setting up and establishing a new IT and Access Controls framework for the ice cream company. This role involves managing technical, people, and cultural changes, and acting as an in-house expert on IT and access risks and controls. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the regulatory environment, audit standards, and best practice controls for cyber, digital, technology, and data within a complex multinational organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- System selection: Develop and implement comprehensive ITGC criteria for the selection of new systems, with a particular emphasis on systems where ITGCs are subject to audit, such as those for which Service Organization Control (SOC) reports are available.
- System implementation: Lead the strategic planning and execution of ITGC integration into all system implementations, collaborating with cross-functional teams from initial planning to deployment and maintenance.
- Data Migration: Design and implement a robust data migration framework to ensure data integrity and accuracy during system transitions. This includes a comprehensive post-migration testing with validation checks, data reconciliation, and integrity assessments to verify the completeness and correctness of the migrated data.
- Framework Establishment: Lead the setup and establishment of a new IT and Access controls framework for the Ice Cream business as it separates from Unilever.
- Framework Implementation: Work with leaders and key stakeholders to manage the implementation of the integrated control framework across the new organization.
- Expert Guidance: Act as an in-house expert on IT and access risks and controls, providing knowledge of regulatory environments, audit standards, and best practices. This includes establishing and maintaining access rights and delegation principles to ensure SOX compliance, including proper design, implementation, and monitoring of access controls to prevent unauthorized access and maintain segregation of duties.
- Governance and Improvement: Govern the integrated control framework and drive ongoing improvements to ensure it keeps pace with industry best practices and emerging technology trends.
- Control Operation: Propose and implement improvement initiatives to streamline control operations and redesign controls where appropriate.
- Collaboration: Work with IT teams to ensure the effective implementation of new controls within the business. Collaborate with the SOX Compliance Manager to determine the systems that will be included within the scope of SOX compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Build strong relationships with external auditors, partner with them to agree on regulatory changes, and translate these into implications for the new IT control environment.
- Business Requirements: Collaborate with the wider team to understand business requirements and assess their impact on the integrated framework.
- Communication: Explain the need for controls and translate technical requirements into understandable deliverables for IT and business teams.
- Transformation Projects: Partner with key business transformation projects to ensure controls are appropriately designed and monitored.
- Technology Solutions: Be part of a core team to implement technology solutions to enhance the new control operating model.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT risk and control management, with a strong background in implementing and governing control frameworks.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IT general controls (ITGCs), application controls, third-party systems control frameworks, and system reports configuration.
- In-depth understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements and compliance.
- Expertise in access controls, including user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and segregation of duties (SoD).
- Excellent project management and change management skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in control frameworks and IT governance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Competence Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of control systems, automation, and related technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and systems to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve control system issues efficiently.

- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
- Innovation: Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in control systems and processes.
- Risk Management: Skills in identifying and mitigating risks associated with control systems.
- Customer Focus: Strong focus on meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers
