Security Engineer

Kinetic IT are currently looking for a driven and passionate Security Engineer to join our Security Operations team. In this role, you’ll work at the forefront of cloud security, focusing on threat detection, security automation, and cloud security integration. You’ll be part of a growing, highly skilled team, working across Azure security, identity & access management, network security, and compliance (IRAP, Essential 8 & ISO 27001). This is an exciting opportunity to lead technical initiatives and drive security uplifts!   This role will include:   • Supporting internal security uplifts focused on IRAP, Essential 8 and ISO 27001 compliance. • Analysing, configuring, and enhancing security controls within the Azure Platform.  • Maintaining Microsoft Cloud Components, including Azure Firewall, Sentinel, Azure Policy, Entra ID, Defender XDR. • Automating security compliance and validation using PowerShell, Kusto Query Language (KQL), and other tools. • Threat Modelling, Security Reviews, and Risk Assessments to strengthen cloud security. • Collaboration with customers as well as internal and external teams. • Upskilling team members across cloud and security operations centre.   Keen to get involved? You'll just need some of the following...   • Experience in cloud security, particularly within Microsoft Sentinel  • Hands-on expertise with IAM, firewalls, network security, and endpoint protection. • Strong scripting and automation skills in PowerShell, KQL, and similar languages. • Familiarity with Threat Modelling, Risk Assessments, and Compliance Frameworks. • Ability to think proactively and implement security best practices. • AGSVA NV1 clearance (or ability to obtain)   Don’t meet every requirement?
