We are looking for a WSMR Security Specialist to join our team to work directly on-site with the customer supporting an Army Project Office team at WSMR.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Provide support to the government Security Manager and government Field Office Lead on the status of security and all major issues that may arise.
- Support coordination functions between the government Program Security Office and WSMR Security Agencies.
- Assists the Security Managers in administering the Information Security Program to ensure the safeguarding of national security information.
- Conducts regular security survey inspections to ascertain organizational adequacy and conformance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyzes survey results and recommends changes, new policies, and procedures for implementation.
- Advises and implements protective measures for proper marking of classified and sensitive information, handling, storage, transportation and shipping requirements, and destruction means, methods, and procedures.
- Conducts preliminary investigations of reportable violations or breaches of information security to determine the sequence of events and possible degree of information compromise.
- Prepare reports of findings and present a course of action.
- Develop security education programs for the workforce. This includes annual mandated training requirements and special or supplemental training as needed.
- Prepare and issue security awareness alerts and disseminate periodic reminders regarding all security disciplines.
- Perform a full range of security operations to include, but not limited to; information security, operation security, technical, personnel, physical, communication, and information system security for WSMR and occasionally support the Tobin Wells security office and mission support operations associated with Army test programs.
- Apply security program philosophy, techniques, and regulatory requirements to resolve routine to complex security policy and procedural problems.
- Prepare and staff a variety of security-related documents including standard operating procedures, restricted area requests, physical security plans, etc., all coordinated with the IFMC Security Manager and IFMC Field Office Lead.
- Coordinating and conducting inspections, investigations, inquiries, and assistance visits to facilities and test areas to include mobile test assets.
- In-depth knowledge of access control and specifically the programming and execution of the Velocity Access Control program to include, setting door groups, assigning personnel to door groups, and setting zones for control of personnel access.
- Other duties as assigned.
At a minimum you should have:
- US Citizen and possess/maintain a Defense SECRET Security Clearance.
- 5 or more years of experience addressing security-oriented activities (physical, information, and personnel) with DoD programs.
- Working knowledge and application of DoD and Army Security Regulations for the protection of classified and controlled unclassified information, systems and facilities.
- 5 years of experience with access control systems.
- Working knowledge of DISS to support IFMC Security Manager and PEO M&S requirements.
- Self-motivated and possess good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Work experience in security in a government environment is a plus.

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000-$109,000
