Cyber Security Consultant

An exciting permanent opportunity to join the HCF Cyber Security Operations team as a Cyber Threat Defence expert in Sydney and contribute to our daily security enhancement efforts.

In this role, you will tackle global cyber threats through detection, assessment, and mitigation. Collaborate with teams to boost HCF’s defences, offer security insights, perform risk evaluations, and proactively hunt threats. You will address HCF’s security challenges and fortify controls, playing a key role in protecting against current and future cyber risks. Your mission will be to keep HCF secure by monitoring and analyzing daily threats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively triaging and responding to advanced cyber threats targeting the organization’s global infrastructure and businesses.
• Conducting vulnerability assessment and testing to identify vulnerabilities, and collaborating with HCF teams for remediation while stay informed about the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies
• Experience in aggregate log analysis (Splunk or other SIEM solutions)
• Experts in network security and services
• Knowledge and operational experience with an Endpoint detection and response (EDR) platform
• Demonstrated experience in incident response is essential
• Develop comprehensive data driven reports and automated monitoring and alerting capabilities
• Collaborate with the rest of cyber team on solving security issues on daily basis
• Stay up-to-date with the latest information about security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices
• Collaborate with business and IT project teams to ensure seamless and high-quality outcomes
• Deliver BAU operational tasks with high-quality output. Proactively highlight the security risk to the reporting manager and provide creative solution to solve the risk across the HCF systems

Essentials:

• Ability to demonstrate and display HCF Values: Step Forward, Stay Human, walk in their Shoes, make it Better and Get There Together
• 6 + years of experience in Blue Teaming, Vulnerability management and incident response, and infrastructure security. 
• Proven experience in security architecture and frameworks
• Strong understanding of security controls and frameworks
• Technical understanding on Microsoft security solutions (SIEM, Defender, Azure), AWS, Vulnerability and patch management 
• Proven experience in Threat Intelligence (TI) analysis.
• Strong experience in cyber risk assessment
• Experience in delivering end-to-end operational tasks in Agile fashion
• Highly skilled in analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting, and prioritization skills. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desirable (Must have at least two out of the following)
• Candidates with a background in SOC operations will be highly preferrable
• Proficiency in utilizing tools for vulnerability discovery, monitoring and implementing remediation strategies is sought after.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools.
• Applicants with experience in Microsoft security solutions, including Sentinel and Microsoft Defender will be highly preferred
