As a Leader for Security DevOps, you will build the security engineering transformation team, deliver to operational support accountabilities as owner of the environments, and improve SecDevOps processes for one of the largest, cutting-edge Digital Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) services in Canada.
The Role:
You will build and lead a security engineering transformation team of highly skilled engineers to design and deliver on transformational initiatives focused on IT Risk, vulnerability management, CIAM reporting, automation, and software currency. You will provide both oversight and executive communications (specifically Roadmaps and Strategy working with partner Operations and Development focused pillars in CIAM Engineering) of transformation initiatives as they progress. You will also own and provide production support of the base infrastructure platform (L2+ focused on Ansible Continuous Development and Splunk) with the overall portfolio undergoing transformational change.
You will have the opportunity to grow and learn from experts in security and IAM domains, mentor and grow security engineers to enhance your leadership skills and deliver executive management communications on transformational initiatives.

This role is 65% leadership, effective management and executive communications + 35% software operations proficiency and support.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Build a security engineering team to lead transformational initiatives and deliver to production support as required.

Develop engineering roadmaps and communicate the transformation change objectives, manage the related projects, and report on status and deliver to outcomes.

Lead the change from current to target state leverage the knowledge and skills of the SecDevOps team to deliver on transformational initiatives as demonstrated by KPIs.

Identify, plan and implement automation of SecDevOps processes and practises.

Ensure all Scotiabank IT regulatory and compliance procedures are met.

Lead by example to develop operational plans and procedures to improve service delivery time-to-market and system reliability.

Optimize ongoing capabilities to reduce IT risk of the CIAM systems.

Participate in defining SLIs, SLOs and SLAs for Enterprise Systems.

Lead and support foundational CIAM infrastructure services upgrades and select software currency initiatives.

Operational support required with a pager.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

You have experience transforming traditional “operations” to a Security/Development/& Operations services. You have successfully developed highly skilled technical teams, bring high standards on “what good looks like”, have excellent executive level communication skills.

You have experience in SecDev practices, including IT Risk oversight and risk remediation.

You have been a platform owner and understand the accountabilities associated with service availability, security, reliability, among other domain KPIst.

You take a proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.

You are a team player in a fast-paced environment.

You are an excellent communicator and planner with the ability to influence decision making across stakeholders. You can map and execute tactical and strategic plans for the team.

You have competency to lead team members with differing opinions and levels of experience.

Experience in Identify and Access Management (IAM) Domain an asset.
