About the position
We are seeking innovative and dedicated individuals to join our forward-thinking Identity and Access Management (IAM) Portfolio within the Cyber Security Division!
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Cyber Access Control you will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled team of cyber specialists enabling Canada’s Central Bank to work securely. With the increase in sophistication and frequency of cyber-attacks, cyber security has been identified as a top priority at the Bank of Canada.

Your future responsibilities
The focus of this role is to provide hands-on administration, development and technical support for several key Identity and Access Management (IAM) products as well as participate in the continuous improvement of IAM services and capabilities designed to enable Bank to identify, protect, detect and respond to cyber threats.
As an Identity Management Specialist, you will:
- Identify and implement Cyber Security risk reduction activities related to the improvement of IAM services and capabilities.
- Provide advanced administration, integration and development services for multiple Identity and Access Management (IAM) products i.e. access control technologies , public key infrastructure (PKI), centralized authentication and multi-factor authentication mechanisms for all users of Bank systems
- Work closely with other IAM and Bank`s team to assess and identify needed IAM controls changes or enhancements (i.e. privileged access management, access control services, public key infrastructure (PKI), centralized authentication and multi-factor authentication mechanisms) as part of continuous improvement.
- Provide advisory and assistance in the definition and implementation of technical security standards related to the management of digital identities at the Bank
- Participate actively in solution testing activities, including automation of test cases.
- Participate in defining, improving and documenting business and system processes.
- Maintain operational support for documentation and knowledge repositories.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, guidance and support to more junior colleagues.
- Provide operational On-Call support 24x7 when required
What you need to succeed
You demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely, as well as willingness to seek colleagues’ views and opinions, contribute toward team goals and readily partner with others to get the work done.
This position requires:
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical expertise in basic networking, SSL/TLS, PKI and certificate based authentication, LDAP, HTTP Proxies and Web Servers, Windows/Unix/Linux operating systems configuration and administration (command line tools, scripting and automation).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts and best practices related to Public Key Infrastructure and digital certificates
- Experience working with critical Access Control platforms (e.g. PKI, HSM, RSA, Certificate Lifecycle Management solution, Microsoft Azure including Azure AD Conditional Access).
- Hands on experience with Windows and Linux OS.
- Experience with Scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Perl, Bash, Python)
- Experience working in a high-volume or critical production service environment; managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
Nice-to-have
- Hands-on experience supporting Access Controls technology (preferably AppViewX CLM and Silverfort)
- Experience in Cyber Security threats analysis and proactive risks mitigation.
- Experience working with health monitoring, metrics reporting and auditing.
- Relevant cyber Security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, etc.)
Your education and experience
- bachelor’s degree or three-year college diploma in computer science, engineering, IT Security or relevant field
- a minimum of five years of work experience in the field of System or Network administration or IT security
or
- an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $92,346 to $108,643 (job grade 16)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
