About the role

Together, with our strong team of cybersecurity governance, awareness and Compliance experts, you will work with state-of-the-art process and technologies to promote a strong cybersecurity culture for Intact Financial Corporation.

In collaboration with your colleagues, you will ensure the team supports as needed the company’s initiatives through guidance on Cybersecurity practices, improving the security culture and knowledge of the organization and, successfully & continuously evaluating and reporting on the cybersecurity compliance practice to reduce cybersecurity risks for the organisation.

What you’ll do here:

  • Act as an expert to continuously monitor, identify and respond to applicable cybersecurity regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Cyber Governance practice through your expertise on policies, standards and best practices.

  • Help foster a strong “cybersecurity compliance by design” culture across the organization by facilitating virtual workshops, preparing electronic publications and communications.
  • Act as a subject matter expert working in major innovative projects and initiatives involving the company's core insurance platforms, where cybersecurity Governance, Awareness and Compliance requirements are needed.
  • Plan and test for cybersecurity control effectiveness, including follow up on remediation plans to ensure cybersecurity compliance objectives are met.
  • Maintain Intact’s cybersecurity plan and assist in internal compliance review of moderate to high levels of complexity.
  • Communicate efficiently to required stakeholders about the cybersecurity compliance program and the expectations for internal and external compliance.
  • Remain vigilant to evolving industry cybersecurity solutions and services to ensure constant protection against ongoing threats.
  • Create professional, detailed and factual reports on all reviews performed and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Establish work processes and methods to maintain sustainable processes and ensure standard practices.


What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in information technology, including at least four (4) years in the field of information security, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Big four (4) experience is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience with the definition, documentation and enforcement of security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Proven experience with the definition, execution and operation of Cybersecurity Awareness programs.
  • Proven experience with control testing, including planning, scoping, testing and documentation following industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of information security management principles and practices.
  • Internal and/or external audit experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong ethical principles and understanding of business and information security ethics.
  • Security related professional designations are considered an asset: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, GSEC, GISP, CEH, GCIH, GCTI, GCFE or the equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (French and English).
  • Positive attitude, team spirit and eagerness to learn
  • Critical mind, professional skepticism and
  • Commitment to training, self-learning and maintaining proficiency in the technical cybersecurity domain.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
