As the Lead of Cyber Security Engineering for the Bastion Zone, you will lead a team of skilled professionals dedicated to enhancing our security infrastructure and ensuring the protection of our digital assets. Your work will be crucial in managing and overseeing various security tasks, including infrastructure as code, account and identity management, disaster recovery, and management and monitoring. This role provides an opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop and maintain detailed documentation, and provide expert guidance on security strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor a team of cybersecurity engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of security tasks.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
    • Oversee the development and debugging of Terraform (IaC) for Azure Cloud.
    • Ensure the maintenance of repository and versioning of IaC (GitHub).
    • Support GitHub Enterprise and migration to new GitHub Enterprise.
    • Oversee the pipeline for deployment of IaC (Azure DevOps).
    • Address issues and audit resources produced via automation.
  • Account and Identity Management:
    • Oversee the provisioning and management of identities in Active Directory (AD).
    • Ensure synchronization to the Azure Tenant (bstn-ntrs).
    • Manage break glass accounts for AD.
    • Support and test backup and recovery of AD.
  • Disaster Recovery:
    • Support DR events and oversee the testing of backup and recovery of AD.
    • Manage break glass accounts for AD.
  • Management and Monitoring:
    • Oversee Azure DNS Administration (Data Management) / Matching Infoblox Records.
    • Manage Azure DNS Administration (Infrastructure/Custom DNS Management).
    • Oversee Group Policy Object (GPO) management.
    • Ensure capacity planning and certificate maintenance.
    • Conduct compliance reviews and vulnerability remediation.
    • Implement changes related to AD and OS settings.
    • Perform log reviews and analysis.
    • Manage 3rd party tools and Azure VM extensions on domain controllers.
    • Oversee Windows logging (Azure Cloud and On-Prem).
  • Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Oversee AD Connect Sync and AD Replication.
    • Manage certificate maintenance - Trusted Publishers (Including Code signing).
    • Troubleshoot domain trust and group policy issues.
    • Address shadow principal troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity engineering and infrastructure management.
  • Strong understanding of cloud environments and their associated security challenges.
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and testing security solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range:

$164,600 - 288,000 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
