The Project Management Office in the Global Cyber Information Security Organization at Medtronic supports key cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and new risk management capabilities. The team provides governance, standardization, project quality and efficiency to strengthen our defense and promote a security conscious culture.   • Responsible for all phases of multiple concurrent projects or a single large-scale, complex program
  • Build trust and rapport with key stakeholders and facilitate executive (i.e. VP) level steering committees discussions
  • Define program and/or project scope and objectives along with applicable project estimates, detailed work plans, schedules, and resource plans
  • Provide leadership to multiple project managers to achieve program objectives with high-quality work products that are delivered on time and on budget
  • Assesses, analyzes and implements information assurance and security engineering systems.
  • Defines requirements for business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counterespionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management) to best protect company assets.
  • Assesses and mitigates system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Validates system security requirements definition and analysis.
  • Verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology & Version Control.
  • Utilize cybersecurity best practices to develop strategies for information assurance during design, manufacturing, and implementation processes.
  • Ensure end results meet business and stakeholder benefit expectations
  • Follow Medtronic’s quality system procedures to ensure compliance with system validation requirements.
  • Foster strong working relationships between project team members
  • Monitor and control project financial metrics and adjust where necessary to meet scope, schedule and budget expectations
  • Follow the IT engagement management model as well as ensure it is aligned with corporate engagement models
  • Ensure that Medtronic’s systems and the information on them are protected in accordance with Medtronic’s Information Protection Policies and Standards, as well as best information Protection practices.
  • Follow Medtronic’s project management methodology and standard operating procedures
  • Provide analytical guidance to project team in support of issue and risk resolutions
  • Required to spend extended periods of time on computer-based work.
  • Escalate project issues as appropriate

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience or advanced degree and 5+ years of experience

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Strongly Preferred:
    • Previous Medtronic experience
    • Broad knowledge of project management. Active PMP or similar accreditation
  • Autonomy: Recognized expert, managing large projects or processes.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining deliverables of assignments, with limited oversight from manager.
  • Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower-level specialists.
  • Organizational Impact: Contributes to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on work group results.
  • May manage large projects or processes that span outside of immediate job area.
  • Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are difficult, moderately complex and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation.
  • Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and/or makes moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products independently to enhance performance of job area.
  • Implements solutions to problems.
  • Communication and Influence: Represents organization as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives; communicates with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$125,600.00 - $188,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
