Responsibilities

Job Summary

 

As an IT Security Operations Manager, responsibilities will include overseeing the security and IT operations of the Oakville Canadian IDEMIA satellite office. This role encompasses IT security management, operational security, compliance, and physical security, ensuring a comprehensive approach to protecting the organization’s assets and supporting IDEMIA’s Canadian customers. This position administratively reports to the IDEMIA Public Security (IPS) Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) operational direction may come from the Oakville Senior Director.

 

Responsibilities - Primary

 

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of operations to include customer support.
  • Conduct, as needed, security assessments, audits, and risk assessments to maintain compliance with applicable standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and industry best practices for the local office.
  • Develop and maintain IT disaster recovery and IT business continuity plans for the IDEMIA office.
  • Lead incident response efforts and manage security breaches, including conducting investigations and developing remediation plans.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain local IT security policies, procedures, and protocols that align with IPS organizational policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Manage the Oakville office IT Support Team who are responsible for operating the IT infrastructure (e.g., on premise and cloud) and providing security for onsite systems; direct IT and cybersecurity activities that directly support Oakville office employees.
  • Maintain customer contractual requirements regarding information security and privacy mandates, including providing executive management with compliance reports and audit findings.
  • Ensure Oakville employees are compliant with security training and awareness programs; provide specific IT security training as necessary.
  • Stay aware of industry security trends and developments, as well as applicable government regulations.

 

Responsibilities – Secondary (~10-15%)

 

  • Serve as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and manage personnel security clearances and accesses as required by Canadian law and/or customer requirements.
    • Official point of contact with Public Services and Procurement Canada’s Contract Security Program (CSP)
  • Manage the security risk management compliance program and insider threat program.
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the physical security requirements for the Oakville facility.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical background in IT systems (e.g. on premise and cloud), network security, and problem-solving.
  • Experience working with IT and non-IT teams and demonstrating interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Able to successfully pass security screening for Canada
  • Management level communication skills, written and verbal.
  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or a related discipline, along with four or more years of operational IT system and network security experience.
  • One or more years of managerial experience is a must.
  • At least one active IT or cybersecurity certification such as:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Microsoft Azure /365
