About the role

As an Assistant Vice President I for the Technology Risk and Controls team, you will be responsible with contributing to the strategy and managing audit risk within the organization. This includes all activities related to external/internal audits (Sarbanes Oxley, SOC reports, etc.) and key transformation initiatives. In collaboration with the TRC team leads, this position will be responsible for effectively collaborating with key stakeholders across the enterprise and lines of defense to ensure risks are being managed effectively and efficiently. This includes integration of activities within the broader controls group as required. This role will help providing strategic risk guidance and maturation of key controls in the organization.

  • Support internal and external audits including managing scope, quality of responses, and interactions for all IT controls matters.
  • Oversee controls relating to the programs that are formally defined to address Internal Controls over Financial reporting (SOX), key transformation initiatives within the organization, and the SOC 2 program for our VALIC Retirement Services Company.
  • Work with Technology teams to ensure adequate preparation for upcoming audits and exams.
  • Provide insights to enhance key IT processes and controls environment to ensure that Corebridge is meeting all internal standards and external audit requirements.
  • Support control issue remediation processes to ensure that the underlying risk to the organization is being managed.
  • Effectively perform deficiency evaluation, understanding mitigating controls to determine risk aggregation.

What we are looking for

  • 4+ years in IT governance and compliance, risk assessment, controls assurance, or audit management.
  • Experience in issue management and remediation is required.
  • Experience in managing compliance or auditing in SAP, SailPoint, and Cloud is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of information system components and related risks.
  • Knowledge of industry practices, standards, and frameworks (i.e. COSO, COBIT, NIST, ISO, etc.).
  • Understanding of technology regulatory requirements in the US and/or regions represented.
  • CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, or other relevant certification preferred.
  • Organized self-starter with the ability to think critically.
  • Function independently and multi-task in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (oral and written) with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly detail orientated.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience in the banking, financial services, or insurance industry a plus but not required.
