PHP Software Developer  

Location: Hill AFB, UT    (onsite)

Clearance Requirement:  ****This position requires an Active Secret Clearance****

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified PHP Software Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in application development, with experience in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale applications. The role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining object-oriented applications, as well as contributing to all phases of the development life cycle. The role will work within a team culture of Passion, Trust, Empathy.c

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Develop, implement, and maintain object-oriented applications with a variety of programming languages, including Python, C#, C++ and PHP
•    Conduct analysis of application requirements, troubleshoot, test, and maintain core product software and databases
•    Utilize Jira and Confluence to contribute to all phases of the development life cycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment
•    Utilize source debuggers and write or modify client software to ensure strong optimization and functionality
•    Update and alter application features to enhance performance and scalability
•    Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
•    Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for software application and web application development
•    Apply and manage software updates, patches, and security fixes, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements

Education & Experience Requirements:

•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
•    Minimum seven (7) years of experience in application development, with a focus on designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale applications

Security Clearance Requirement:

•    Active Secret Clearance required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required:

•    Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and client/server architecture
•    Strong knowledge of database technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases
•    Experience with cloud-native technologies, including Docker, microservices, and containerization
•    Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
•    Self-starter with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
•    Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
•    Ability in an interview to demonstrate enterprise-level programming skills and soft skills
•    Some background in PHP development, with experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using PHP

Preferred:

•    Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, including migration of legacy applications to cloud
•    Knowledge of other programming languages, including JavaScript, Ruby, and Swift
•    Experience with application development best practices, design patterns, and testing frameworks
•    Knowledge of security best practices (e.g., OWASP, security testing, patch management, and STIG compliance)
•    Strong communication and adaptability skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
•    Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes
•    Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands

•    Basic office work environment at government facility location
•    Work will be done during core business hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Mon-Fri
•    Full-time, with flexible hours option.
•    May require occasional overtime or on-call work to support project deadlines.
•    Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the customer
