Information Security Intern

FAIRWINDS is looking for a part time Information Security Intern to join us at the Alafaya Trail Support Center. This intern will gain hands-on experience in protecting our organization's digital assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information systems. This role will involve a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing our security posture and mitigating potential threats. A Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field. This is a Summer program and will require 20 hours/week for 8-12 weeks with a pay rate of $15/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of security measures and controls.
• Monitoring and analyzing security alerts and incidents.
• Supporting the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
• Participating in security awareness training for employees.
• Assisting with the investigation and response to security events.

Desired Experience: A Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of network security, encryption, and security protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

This internship may involve some physical tasks, such as setting up security equipment and conducting on-site assessments.
