Sentar is seeking a Information Assurance/Security Specialist – Level II Engineer III

Role Description:

The Information Assurance/Security Specialist – Level II will provide specialized support for system security practices within the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the Global Service Provider (GSP) contract. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity frameworks to assist in developing, assessing, and maintaining security documentation, ensuring that systems gain and retain the necessary Authority to Operate (ATO).

Responsibilities:

Assist with Security Accreditation:
- Work with system owners and Information System Security Officers (ISSO) to develop and maintain Certification & Accreditation (C&A) documentation.
- Help facilitate the process of achieving and maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO).
Compliance & Governance:
- Follow NIST and/or DoD standards in the creation, review, and management of security controls.
- Ensure alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) IA Certification and Accreditation Process standards.
Risk Analysis & Mitigation:
- Identify vulnerabilities, assess potential impacts, and recommend mitigations.
- Support continuous monitoring activities to maintain a secure environment.
Security Tools & Procedures:
- Use approved cybersecurity tools, concepts, and processes to manage and protect DHA systems.
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend enhancements to security posture.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and operational stakeholders, to ensure cohesive security efforts.
- Provide clear documentation and reports on IA/security activities, findings, and resolutions.

Qualifications:

Clearance Level: Secret

Certifications: IAT III and IAM III (per DoD 8570.01-M requirements)
CE (Associate level; Professional preferred) in supported technology (as approved by COR)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

- 3+ years of experience in IA or cybersecurity roles.Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, IAVM, and other DoD cybersecurity standards.
- Knowledge Base: Familiarity with NIST and/or DoD IA Certification & Accreditation processes, common cybersecurity tools, concepts, and best practices.
