Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our data systems, protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access, and implementing robust security measures. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, data protection regulations, and advanced data security tools and technologies.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Identify, define, and document system security requirements, proposing solutions to management for consideration.
- Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
- Manage the configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of data security infrastructure software.
- Monitor systems for unusual activity and implement preventive measures to mitigate risks.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of security measures, implementing updates, and identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Participate in investigations and help resolve data security incidents, including data breaches and unauthorized access attempts, while compiling post-breach information for forensic analysis.
- Collaborate with the GRC team to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
- Contribute to security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with IT, legal, and compliance teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to data security.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Security Engineer or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) tools such as Concentric.AI, Varonis, BigID, and Cyera.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data protection regulations, and security technologies.
- In-depth understanding of data protection regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and ISO 27001.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GSEC are a plus.

The range for this position is $80,400.00 to $144,700.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
