Design, implement, and maintain an organization's security framework by conducting risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, developing secure network and system solutions, and protecting an organization's sensitive data and systems from cyber threats. Apply your technical knowledge to solving complex systems and security engineering problems. Provide support and expertise in creating and maintaining security-based compliance documents such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Authorization to Operate (ATOs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Use security principles, concepts, and best practices for developing and implementing information assurance and security policies and procedures. Utilize strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve cybersecurity related issues. Stay abreast of current standards, best practices, procedures, and common bodies of knowledge approaches for information assurance, software security, and system security. Clearly articulate complex cybersecurity concepts, both written and verbally, with management and technical customers. Organize and coordinate systems and network vulnerability assessments, code reviews, penetration testing, and web application assessments. Provide schedule support for security activities.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience developing resilient cybersecurity solutions and researching innovative cyber resilience strategies
Experience with FISMA activities, including system security plans, Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and security control requirements and assessments with NIST SP 800-53, Revision 5, and FedRAMP security controls
Experience applying NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management principles, interpreting requirements, and developing implementation guidance
Experience reviewing architecture and design patterns for security compliance
Knowledge of federal privacy requirements, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and personally identifiable information (PII)
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity
CompTIA Security+ Certification
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with security tools and devices, including network firewalls, web proxy, intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, or penetration tools
Experience with zero trust best practices and methodologies
Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
CISSP Certification

Applicants selected must possess an active IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI) and meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client; IRS MBI is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
