The Opportunity: 

The Mobile Enablement Platform team is looking for talented engineers for the Bangalore office to drive the evolution of mobile payment solutions and to build solutions that transforms payments to mobile phones. You will work closely with UX, product management, and other teams to conceive, design, and create unique payment capabilities on the mobile device. Your code will be rock solid and built to perform on multiple platforms & environments. You will be also work closely with various stakeholders to help establish mobile development standards.

You will drive development of multiple mobile apps, prototype new apps and feature ideas and explore new technologies that are at the forefront of mobile development.

We are looking for someone with Mobile Development skills, strong interests in all things mobile, and a passion for delivering high quality, rock-solid apps.

The Work itself: 

• Develop next generation mobile payment applications for the Android platform, write solid code following best development practices
• Take ownership across the SDLC – planning, analysing, designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining – in adherence to Android's development standards and guidelines
• Write code that is easy to read, highly maintainable, and written with automated testing in mind
• Coach other engineers and team members to increase their capability and in turn the capability of the scrum teams and organisation
• Effectively document and communicate knowledge, system and process
• Effectively communicate scope, progress, concerns, and issues
• Contribute to maintaining software development standards, guidelines, and practices up-to-date
• Drive continuous improvements by collaborating with other development, test, release & infrastructure teams
• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrade
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Interface with various stakeholders and establish rock solid mobile enablement practice.
• Work as a part of scrum team executing the products requirements working with UX, product management and other teams in an agile manner
• Provide subject matter expertise for Android platform
• Develop mobile framework and UI based on best practices
• Execute POCs for visionary initiatives

The Skills You Bring:

• In-depth Knowledge: Expertise in Native Android-related technologies, including Java, Kotlin, Jetpack, and design patterns such as MVC, VIPER, and MVVM.

• Cross-Platform Experience: Hands-on experience with other mobile development platforms or frameworks like iOS and Flutter is a plus.

• Architecture Proficiency: Solid experience with Android Architecture Components.

• Lifecycle Expertise: Proficiency in the application development lifecycle, CI/CD, and writing maintainable code using TDD/BDD paradigms.

• Performance Optimization: Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.

• API Integration: Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.

• Testing Skills: Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) is a plus, with expertise in writing Unit Tests and UI Instrumentation Tests.

• Framework Mastery: Extensive understanding of Android native framework components and their respective lifecycles, combined with solid knowledge of multithreading, networking, offline storage, and performance tuning.

• User Experience Focus: Passion for user experience and knowledge of Android Application Patterns as per Google’s interface guidelines.

• Computer Science Fundamentals: Strong foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for the mobile platform.

• Coding Best Practices: Solid coding practices including good design documentation, unit testing, continuous integration, source control (GIT), and peer code-reviews.

• Security Awareness: Knowledge in Android platform and OWASP security practices.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 

• 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) 

• Experience in developing enterprise-grade mobile applications at scale. 

• Proficiency in Android development using Java and Kotlin. 

• Experience in iOS development using Swift and Objective-C or Hands on experience in cross-platform mobile development using Flutter.  

• Development experience with state management solutions in Flutter such as setState, Provider, Riverpod, or Bloc. 

• Experience with API integration using Retrofit/OkHttp for Android and Alamofire/URLSession for iOS. 

• Familiarity with performance optimization and offline storage mechanisms in mobile applications. 

• Proficient in GIT, Gradle, Jenkins etc. 

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications. 

• Experience with Agile methodologies and iterative software development lifecycle principles. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

• Experience in building responsive UI in mobile applications.

• Knowledge of design principles and user experience best practices. 

• Basics in UI/UX development using UIKit and SwiftUI for iOS, or Jetpack Compose for Android.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Experience in writing unit and UI tests for mobile applications using tools like Espresso, Mockito for Android, or XCTest, XCUITest for iOS.
