Sigma Defense is seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Systems Administrator/Technician to join our dedicated team at Sigma Defense. As a General IT Info Systems Tech II, you will play an integral role in the maintenance, support, and enhancement of our information technology infrastructure and Sigma Defense employees. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical foundation, experience with VMware, switches, routers, rack-and-stack procedures, user management, security, and patching. While technical expertise is essential, we emphasize the importance of excellent customer service and collaborative skills in this role.

This is a hybrid role which will require on-site presence as directed while providing flexibility for remote work.

Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of the United States.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Infrastructure Support: Participate in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of our VMware virtualization environment. Assist in managing switches, routers, and networking devices to ensure a stable network infrastructure. Contribute to rack-and-stack operations for new equipment installations as needed.
  • User Assistance: Aid in the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and applications. Respond to user inquiries, assist in troubleshooting, and provide timely solutions to maintain user satisfaction.
  • Security and Patching: Assist in implementing security measures to protect the organization's data, systems, and networks. Contribute to regular system updates, security patches, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Technical Support: Collaborate with Level 1 support, providing assistance in resolving technical issues and incidents. Contribute to mentoring junior team members to foster knowledge sharing.
  • System Monitoring: Participate in monitoring system performance, identifying potential issues, and taking corrective actions. Contribute to routine maintenance tasks for optimized system performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Assist in maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, network topology, and troubleshooting procedures. Contribute to generating reports on system performance and incidents.
  • Project Participation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects, including system upgrades, infrastructure expansions, and technology migrations.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance skillsets and contribute to the team's effectiveness.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems or Cybersecurity or 3-5 years of experience of related work experience if no degree is held.

Computer Programs/Software Requirements:

  • Azure AD
  • PowerShell
  • DNS
  • Networking

Preferred Certifications:

  • CISSP
  • Security+
  • Net+
  • VCP

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or be able to obtain an active Secret security clearance.

Candidate Differentiators:

  • VCP, Sec+, Net+, and or CISSP certifications.
  • Close proximity to the Crystal City - Arlington, VA facility.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $90,000 annually.
