The Associate System Engineer for Cybersecurity will be responsible for quarterly security releases that may include Service Pack updates, Microsoft security updates, as well as address other potential product security vulnerabilities as needed.  This activity will require cross-functional System Development collaboration to assess the change impacts and risks, technical writing skills, and verification testing – all to be performed in compliance with company procedures. 

The Associate System Engineer for Cybersecurity will be responsible for the post-market vulnerability monitoring of indicated products in compliance with company procedures including providing support to initiate security scanning as needed.

The Associate System Engineer for Cybersecurity will assist with threat modeling and the assessment of security risk as needed.

The Associate System Engineer for Cybersecurity will also be accountable for ensuring that St. Louis R&D computers and instruments maintain compliance to corporate IS cyber security policies which will include maintaining a computer and instrument inventory. 

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for System Engineering deliverables in support of quarterly releases focused on ensuring the cybersecurity of bioMerieux products.
  • Responsible for continuous cyber security vulnerabilities monitoring of the VITEK and VIRTUO products including documenting the assessments and follow up on all required actions.
  • As a member of the Systems Engineering Cybersecurity team, be one of the key points-of-contact for the St. Louis System Development department for IS cyber security compliance which includes maintaining an inventory of all computers and instruments within System development and providing support as needed.
  • Provide recommendations for technical or process quality improvements related to cybersecurity of bioMerieux products.

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  •  An associate degree in Information Systems or Computer Science + a certification in cybersecurity management + 2 or more years of cybersecurity management experience,
    • or a BS in Information Systems or Computer Science +2 or more years of cybersecurity management experience,
    • or a BS in Information Systems or Computer Science + a certification in cybersecurity management,
  • Strong collaborative design and project skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong informational and technical research skills
  • Provides assistance to more senior engineering staff to assure that project deadlines are met
  • Takes responsibility for design control where applicable and their compliance with design specifications and standard quality and compliance procedures 

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

  • bioMerieux product knowledge highly valued
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools – primarily Excel, Word and Outlook, but also Visio, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong professional communication skills required
