Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Monitors, analyzes, and watches over the facilities using various security systems such as CCTV surveillance cameras, access controls, communications, and alarms to detect, identify and prevent internal and/or external threats and risks in the company.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- In charge of keeping the security systems (CCTV surveillance cameras, access controls, communications, and alarms) in optimal operation. Monitor the CCTV surveillance cameras, access controls, and alarm systems. Report anomalies detected with the security systems.
- Report any type of failure that exists in the security equipment (CCTV surveillance cameras, access controls, communications, alarms, computer equipment, network video recorders, software, recordings, network, database, among other equipment and/or tools in the area.
- Report incidents and/or events that compromise the security of the company.
- Report emergency situations to the corresponding authorities.
- Answer the intercom devices installed in the access doors of building and validate that the person is authorized to enter the facilities.
- Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Management of keys and locks.
- Meets the requirements and/or support that the company needs.
- Control and administration of physical and/or electronic information such as video recordings, video images, photos, access records, among others.
- Monitors the entry and exit of people and/or vehicles to the facilities.
- Generates incident reports and informs to the immediate superior via (telephone, mobile, verbal, radio, or email).
- Provides support in emergencies (emergency response).
- Generates video recordings safely and with the authorization of the immediate superior.
- Provides support in the investigation process (review of video recordings, video images, access records, among others).
- Receives incident reports (investigations) and register them in the investigation’s registration and follow-up data base.
- Monitors the internal and external areas of the facility.
- Adhere to all operating standards of the company.
- Monitors the main access doors of the facility.
- Act according to all policies, procedures and regulations established by the company.
- Identifies potential security risks and responds appropriately.
- Monitors the perimeter of the facilities to detect suspicious behavior, unsafe acts and/or criminal activity. Responds to calls and radiocommunications directed to the security operations center.
- Keeps the CCTV surveillance cameras system check list updated.
- Verifies on daily basis that the CCTV surveillance cameras and access control system work properly.
- Follow up on incidents and events that occur in the company.
- Use all technological resources and systems for the investigation process.
- Collect data, information, and evidence for the investigation process.
- Provides electronic access cards to employees, practitioners, and authorized internal contractors.
- Register and upload information of employees, practitioners, internal contractors in the access control system.
- Provides access levels to the personnel according to the position and/or area of work.
- Activate or cancel access cards according to the status of the personnel.
- Management and recovery of electronic access cards belonging to the company.
- Assist in activities related to the security and protection of employees and company assets.
- Saves digital records obtained by the CCTV surveillance cameras and access control systems in an orderly and chronological manner.
- Document management (attention to employees in filling out security forms).
- Complies with the specific activities of the position (work instructions).
- Conducts internal and external surveillance rounds using the CCTV security cameras system.
- Keeps the access control system check list updated.
- Monitor the fire system alarm panel and report any activation to the immediate superior.
Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Skills: strong written and verbal communication, multitask, work independently, attention to detail, analytical, emotional control, integrity, work under pressure, trustworthy, follow complex instructions, activity planning, good service orientation, fast in his actions, ability to decision making, responsible, honest, have motivation and confidence, flexibility and adaptation, team work, commitment, ability to solve specific situations with immediate results, ethical and professional, positive, helpful and respectful, deductive and inductive capacity, maintain confidentiality and discretion on matters, good physical condition and health.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years in an industrial environment. Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent in criminology, criminalistics, security, psychology, computer sciences (IT). Training and/or knowledge: Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power Point), intermediate level of english, use of computers, laptop, telephone, cell phone, printer, email, security devices, CCTV operator training, access controls, CCTV cameras, basic security, and safety, CTPAT and OEA programs. Management of any of the following software: Wisenet Wave, Milestone, Keyscan VII, Lenel OnGuard.
- Preferred qualifications: security certification in related field (CPO, APP).
