Royal Caribbean Group’s Safety, Security & Environment Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead, Global Intelligence and Threat Analysis reporting to the Director Intelligence, Investigations & Situational Management.

 

Position Summary:

The Lead, Global Intelligence and Threat Analysis will manage the Intelligence team, directing both personnel and analytic processes. The successful candidate will be a self-starter that will lead the team in the collection and analysis of information, providing timely warnings to RCG shoreside and shipboard personnel to mitigate potential impacts on the organization’s operations, assets, personnel, and guests. This position reports to the Director of Intelligence, Investigations, and Situational management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing comprehensive and timely intelligence research analysis and threat assessments to aid in the mitigation of risk and decision-making for the organization.
  • Develops and maintains in-depth understanding of the complex global threats that could impact RCG operations, its assets, and people.
  • Independently plans and directs research and analysis on various threats; provides guidance to RCG business units and personnel; ensures timely, accurate subject matter expert input.
  • Provides leadership with data-driven recommendations to enhance decision-making and improve business outcomes.
  • Responsible for managing Intelligence analyst’s analytic efforts, serving as first-line reviewer and editor on all finished intelligence production.
  • Oversees and supports the travel security program to ensure timely engagement and accountability during incidents.
  • Develops and maintains coordination and liaison with counterparts and colleagues throughout the intelligence and law enforcement communities. Frequently represents RCG at interagency and intergovernmental teleconferences, secure video teleconferences, working groups and committees.
  • Cultivates strong and productive relationships with high-level domestic and international law enforcement, intelligence services and private sector counterparts worldwide.
  • Initiates collaborative private sector intelligence community relationships designed to provide a network of information partners in private industry to serve the global needs of RCG. 
  • Maintains vendor services relationships, evaluates their performance and capabilities to meet the intelligence team’s needs, and is proactive in assessing new services and/or tools that enhance the team’s ability to identify, warn, and respond to ongoing threats.  
  • Oversees the evaluation of information/data (both OSINT and proprietary information) to determine significance, accuracy and reliability.
  • Develops team performance metrics; leads by example and incorporates the philosophy of “constant improvement”; produces and maintains results by recruiting and selecting high quality staff members; coaches, counsels; trains, develops, and evaluates performance.
  • Achieves financial goals by establishing objectives; developing and monitoring budgets; improves the efficiency and effectiveness of allocated financial resources; collaborating with other teams to find efficiencies; and optimizing use of assets.
  • Interviews candidates for openings and makes hiring recommendations. Analyzes periodically the workload of organization unit and recommends staffing changes.
  • Determines, communicates and evaluates performance expectations with employees, including quantitative and qualitative standards.
  • Plans, delegates, and controls work assignments and special projects of other employees
  • Supports the Director of Intelligence, Investigations, and Situational management in developing policies and strategies to assess and mitigate threats to company assets and employees.  
  • Trains, develops, and motivates employees to improve their performance

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience and a demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing responsibility within private sector corporate security or a related public sector organization, including 3-5 years of experience within a law enforcement/intelligence or related agency and 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role.  
  • Experience running and/or building an intelligence program in the corporate environment preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively across departments with and in support of corporate executives and their direct reports at a variety of levels within the company.
  • Ability to consolidate ideas, information and data; produce sound strategies; and clearly communicate (both verbal and written) those strategies to a variety of levels within and outside the company.
  • Ability to independently prepare executive presentations that effectively communicate core program strategies, plans and accomplishments.
  • Ability to inspire, lead and motivate direct reports in the performance of their duties. 
  • Ability to delegate appropriately to deliver effective results on the ground, providing high levels of support and guidance but ensuring employees are empowered to manage their areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to implement initiatives, guide departmental activities and maintain fiscal responsibility.
  • Ability to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and events simultaneously, with a strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to high-priority events; organizing and scheduling work effectively.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and is a self-starter capable of independently leading and motivating a team to achieve high performance and organizational goals.
