The Homeland and Force Protection Business Area is looking for a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer to support Counter-small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS) projects with our Air Force customer. Our team is focused on providing engineering and integration support throughout the entire kill chain to 20+ C-sUAS sites globally. The primary project focus for this role is a C-sUAS Shared Early Warning (SEW) capability in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer will support the program remotely but must be local to the Greater Boston area to provide onsite support as needed. Limited travel to the NCR will also be required. As a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer, the ideal candidate will be capable of executing independent projects or collaborating with a variety of teams consisting of customer and Leidos personnel. The candidate will be responsible for technical and administrative tasks consisting of preparing Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts, defining cybersecurity requirements, and obtaining/maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO) for multiple systems. This position will report to the Project Lead and will require close coordination with program management, engineering staff, and customer stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead all cybersecurity efforts for engineering and integration projects

  • Perform Cyber Security accreditation IAW DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework for DoD Information Technology (IT), including ATO and ATC

  • Perform the Assessment and Authorization of DoD systems, software, and networks in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), in conjunction with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system

  • Perform hands-on vulnerability testing, evaluate vulnerability results, and prepare remediation and mitigation strategies

  • Author and review IS security-related documentation as needed for customer deliverables

  • Provide security engineering review of proposed changes or additions to the IS (including hardware, software, or connectivity), and advise the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) of the security relevance

  • Accurately monitor, track, and report on cybersecurity project status to internal and external stakeholders

  • Coordinate with Leidos PMO and customer stakeholders to prioritize cybersecurity tasks

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree and eight (8)+ years of prior relevant experience or MS with six (6) + years of prior relevant experience

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must possess and maintain an active SECRET clearance

  • Must be familiar with eMASS

  • One or more DoD Manual 8570 IAT II/III certifications prior to start

  • Able to multi-task, self-assign work, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Ability to occasionally work in classified environments, as well as customer locations

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, handle changing priorities, and work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Experience preparing and briefing technical reviews to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience with system development and operations of U.S. military unmanned aircraft systems and communication protocols

  • Experience as an ISSO/ISSM

  • Experience obtaining new ATO’s and ATC’s for complex systems

  • Experience supporting USAF customers

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
