Security Engineer II - Infrastrcture

What You'll Be Doing

The Security Infrastructure Engineer II is a front-line member of the Security Infrastructure team responsible for providing security infrastructure technologies for the protection of Stifel assets. The Security Infrastructure Engineer II is accountable for assisting in the engineering design, analysis, and support of security infrastructure and defense solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Assists in researching, designing, and implementing cyber security solutions for organization systems and products that comply with all applicable security policies and standards.• Analyzes and assists in the generation of recommendations for improving network security architecture.• Aid in the Implementation of new and updated existing security measures for the protection of Stifel infrastructure.• Works with IT and internal and external business partners to ensure that security is considered in the evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration of hardware and software.• Assist in documenting standard operating procedures and protocols.• Analyzes and makes recommendations to improve network, system, and application architectures.• Troubleshoot security infrastructure devices.• Provide rotational after-hour support for security infrastructure support.• Coordinate planned change windows and log results.

What You'll Bring

• Extensive experience with firewalls, content filtering, and other security infrastructure solutions.• Strong understanding of security control frameworks and practices.• Understanding how to identify and prioritize security incidents and/or escalate them to management or other team members.• Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to systematically assess a problem or situation to identify probable causes and solutions accurately.• Understanding of a broad range of IT disciplines that would impact overall security posture.• Fundamental understanding of IP-based networking and networking components, including monitoring tools.

Education & Experience

• Minimum Required: High School diploma.• Minimum Required: 2-4 years of experience in an information technology or information security role.

Licenses & Credentials

• Minimum Required: None

Systems & Technology

• Experience working with firewalls and other network security technologies.• Experience with ticketing systems.• Experience with office productivity, reporting, and technical documentation software.• Exposure to systems monitoring tools and logging tools.• Numerous versions of Microsoft Windows and Web Browsers.• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
