Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Cyber Data Security Analyst to support data analysis and reporting capabilities for a federal customer. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise in data evaluation, analysis, and security will play a key role. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management principles and will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient cataloging of data assets. The Senior Cyber Data Security Analyst will collaborate with various teams to gather data requirements, define metadata standards, and maintain a centralized data catalog. The position demands excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.


The Senior Cyber Data Security Analyst will be responsible for collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and presenting results using statistical methods, with a primary focus on Splunk for data visualization and reporting. The role requires the acquisition of data from multiple sources and the maintenance of data warehouses, lakes, and related systems. You will develop and implement data collection systems, organize data for normalization, and turn complex datasets into actionable insights. In addition, you will design and build reports, dashboards, and other visual representations of data for executives, stakeholders, and internal users.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customer teams to support data governance and cataloging processes.
  • Work with IT teams to maintain and enhance data catalog tools and systems.
  • Provide expert guidance on data catalog usage and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in data management and governance workflows.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in data governance, data management, and Splunk technologies.
  • Design and develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Splunk for various stakeholders.
  • Lead data analysis projects to ensure data is organized, normalized, and analyzed for business insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, or a related field, with 5 years of experience. Additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in data management or data governance roles.
  • Proficiency in Splunk for data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience with data cataloging tools and systems (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica).
  • Proficiency in SQL and data profiling tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
