As the WEST Manager of Cybersecurity Operations within the CSO Security Platforms organization, you will lead a technical team responsible for the operations, project support, and assurance of critical cybersecurity infrastructure, platforms, and applications at TELUS. This is your opportunity to drive strategic transformation to the Cloud, NextGen operations, automation, and AI in a DevOps environment.
What you’ll do
As an Effective Leader, you will:
- Foster a high-performance culture with strong engagement
- Provide robust support to team members in achieving their goals
- Guide the team effectively during challenging times, such as incident troubleshooting, degradation mitigation, and recovery
As an Expert, you will:
- Leverage your exceptional capabilities to manage strategic cybersecurity infrastructure, platforms, and applications critical to protecting TELUS
- Collaborate with design teams to deploy new cybersecurity solutions and manage their lifecycle
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure reliable performance and minimize service degradation
- Partner with vendor management to establish maintenance and support requirements, develop vendor scorecards, and provide regular feedback on operational support quality
- Support established KPIs to measure performance against expected business outcomes
As a Strategist, you will:
- Proactively plan for operational and assurance needs, including Cloud, NextGen tools, and automation such as dynamic asset management, configuration and patch automation, fault and performance monitoring, trouble-ticketing, and synthetic monitoring
As a Project & Resource Manager, you will:
- Provide project coordination and management support, prioritizing resource allocation based on business priorities
- Plan and manage the team's operating expenses budget
What you bring
- University degree in Technology, Cybersecurity or equivalent experience
- Passionate about leading an operations environment and helping the team solve operations challenges
- 5 or more years of experience in cybersecurity technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection and protection system, email security, web Security, DDoS prevention, identity and access management (IAM) systems, MFA, certificate and key management, HSM, monitoring tools, cloud security, zero trust and privilege access management solutions.
- Acknowledged for your familiarity with critical platforms assurance best practices, including change management, event management, and incident management
- Skilled in your ability to develop and maintain device health information, proactive monitoring data, and preventative maintenance plans
- Known for your sound decision-making and result-driven mindset with the ability to take initiative and ownership of complex issues, concepts, and tasks through to resolution
- Regarded for your ability to communicate complex technical matters in easy-to-understand ways
Great-to-haves
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies & network functions virtualization (NFV)
- Cloud experience Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Understanding of telecommunications (wireless and wireline), and information technology (IT), data center environments. Familiarity with scripting, automation, data, machine learning and AI.
- Professional security certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), SANS
This role is for a West Operations manager who will work closely with the East Operations manager. The position requires availability outside of regular working hours to address any urgent issues or emergencies that may arise. The successful candidate will be expected to promptly respond to and resolve any critical incidents, ensuring the smooth operation of our platforms and services.
