Role

As a Technical Product Manager on the MDaaS IDIQ contract, you will play a pivotal role in the development and success of our products. You will act as the bridge between stakeholders, development teams, and end users to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet both business and customer needs with regards to the Mobile Operations Support Suite (MOSS) project. This role requires a strategic mindset, mobile technology experience, strong communication skills, and outcomes-based approach. 

Objectives

  • Establish Clarity in the Integrator role to bring MOSS to life as an operational capability 
  • Provide technical guidance and support the Gov’t Program Manager and Engineering Lead 
  • Understand Software Acquisition Pathway (https://aaf.dau.edu/aaf/software/) and advise the product strategy and technical vision to support the Acquisition Strategy for MOSS (Mobile Operations Support Suite) project 
  • Ensure agreements are in place for Clarity and subcontractors to support BESPIN in MOSS work 
  • Coordinate documentation and artifacts to aid in communication and updates of MOSS 
  • Plan ahead for product roll-out with materials, marketing, and communication that give MOSS the best chance for stakeholder sponsorship 
  • Take outcomes-based and organized approach to manage events and activities that support MOSS milestones 
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the product’s technical architecture and constraints 
  • Use technical knowledge to ensure technical and non-technical requirements align with overall business strategy and goals 

Responsibilities

  • Own the Product Vision: Clearly define and articulate the long-term vision and goals for the product, aligning them with the overall business strategy. Tell a compelling story for audiences of all levels including senior executives. Establish the product’s vision, strategy, outcome-driven roadmap, and product backlog. 
  • Facilitate and Communicate: Drive the narrative in both verbal and written communication. Facilitate meetings with team members and stakeholders, communicating effectively at the senior, most executive levels of the Department of the Air Force, and using methods your audience will participate in. Communicate the vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog to different audiences with a tailored message they will understand. 
  • Decision Making and Problem Solving: Make timely and informed decisions on product features, scope, and priorities based on input from stakeholders, market analysis, and feedback from design and development on your team. Identify pain points and opportunities for the team and be proactive in actioning towards resolutions. 
  • Work Prioritization: Lead and influence a balanced cross-functional team in daily activities to execute against a vision. Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the highest business value and is aligned with the product vision. 
  • User Story Creation: Document and package detailed operational requirements and experiences. Write clear and detailed user stories with acceptance criteria to communicate product requirements to the development team. Champion user-centered design philosophy within the internal product team and externally with customers. 
  • Strategic Stakeholder Communication: Act as a bridge between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that stakeholders' needs and expectations are understood and incorporated into the product backlog. Communicate sophisticated ideas, anticipating potential objections, and persuading others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view 
  • Technical Advice: Enhance the technical understanding of the stakeholders and agile team. Balance technical requirements, risks, and overall strategy when giving advice to stakeholders, subcontractors, and team members. Clearly communicate the goals, constraints, and best path forward. Manage technical debt and documentation. Possess deep knowledge of mobile ecosystems, including Apple and Android platforms, with a strong grasp of their development frameworks, deployment processes, and best practices for delivering secure, high-performance mobile applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) 
  • At least 8 years of user-facing work experience in Product Management 
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies 
  • Strong understanding of Lean Product Management principles 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience with leading products from idea to market 
  • Experience with user-centered design, concept and usability testing, and other research methods 
  • Experience in stakeholder management, communication, and presentation 
  • Experience working in a balanced team to build, measure, and learn 
  • Experience working in a rapid and iterative development environment  
  • Experience balancing customer and user feedback to create desirable solutions 
  • Experience working with mobile application delivery mechanisms such as app stores, MDMs, and side-loading 
  • Experience with mobile security requirements and standards 
  • Experience with mobile components and their role in the mobile ecosystem, such as devices, connectivity, OS and security policies, mobile applications, and plug-ins 
  • Experience delivering mobile products and mobile architecture diagrams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of US Air Force software acquisitions, digital services trends and emerging technologies 
  • Experience in new product strategic development and execution 
  • Experience working in remote working environments 
  • Eligible for Secret security clearance 
  • Ability and willingness to travel
