Cybersecurity Policy Consultant

The Opportunity:  

To achieve an organization’s mission, leaders need strong team members who can evaluate processes, communicate requirements, and develop innovative solutions throughout the execution of the mission. Whether developing cybersecurity CONOPS or implementing cybersecurity opportunities, our clients need a consultant who can help manage strategic cybersecurity planning. That is why we need you, an experienced Cybersecurity Policy Consultant who can develop and implement cybersecurity strategy and provide high-quality support. 

As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical consultant to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. You’ll leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support to senior ARPA-H decision makers. You’ll maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating commercialization of successfully developed technologies.  

You'll serve as a Cybersecurity Policy Consultant, helping clients to monitor cybersecurity policies and leverage information security knowledge to help clients achieve their goals. You will assist with cybersecurity policy and operations and be readily available to shift your focus to fulfill emerging client requests. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission's success. 

What You’ll Work On: 

  • Directly support the ARPA-H Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with the implementation of cybersecurity policies. 

  • Support the CISO with the development of plans to help the agency achieve compliance with federal laws and regulations.

  • Support the cybersecurity governance team by ensuring ARPA-H systems are in compliance with both agency and federal policies.

  • Develop the Cybersecurity Awareness and Training Program for the agency.

  • Develop cybersecurity training specific to the ARPA-H CISO Team, including developing role-based Training for ARPA-H Information System Security Officers.

You Have: 

  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity work in the federal government  

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity federal mandates such as OMB Circulars, EOs, or CISA BODs

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts  

  • Knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework, including NIST SP 800-37 and NIST SP 800-53

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with U.S. government health organizations 

  • Experience with federal health policies  

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities 

  • Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively 

  • Ability to pay strict attention to details and diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables 

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
