Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer with experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) operations and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity frameworks, incident response, and risk management, with a preference for candidates who have prior experience supporting the U.S. Army or other Department of Defense (DoD) entities. This position requires an active Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities:

  • Cybersecurity Operations
  • Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents in a SOC environment using SIEM tools and other monitoring platforms.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security risks.
  • Develop and implement security measures to protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
  • Perform incident response, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • FISMA Compliance
  • Ensure systems comply with FISMA requirements, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Develop and maintain system security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and risk assessments.
  • Perform security control assessments and audits to validate compliance with FISMA and other applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address findings and improve security posture.
  • Collaboration and Training
  • Work closely with IT teams, program managers, and leadership to ensure security requirements are integrated into system design and operations.
  • Provide cybersecurity training and guidance to team members and end-users.
  • Stay current with emerging cyber threats, technologies, and best practices to enhance the organization’s security posture.
  • Army and DoD Support
  • Apply knowledge of Army-specific cybersecurity policies, standards, and practices to ensure alignment with DoD guidelines.
  • Participate in meetings and briefings with Army or DoD stakeholders, providing technical expertise and recommendations.
