This position requires an active TS/SCI Security Clearance (with the ability to obtain a CI poly)
Duties may include:
- Monitor and manage security programs and operations by providing status reports and recommendations to help with decision-making.
- Assist and collaborate with other SIS offices and divisions such as SISP, SISO, SISI, SISM, SISX, and SISS.
- Develop solutions and communicate them to both internal and external customers.
- Provide technical expertise on security disciplines and operations support at the agency level.
- Review and analyze security applications, monitor appropriate metrics, and keep required records.
- Prepare and share security procedures and guidance.
- Offer guidance on implementing security requirements as needed.
- Manage project milestones and develop lifecycle plans.
- Update and maintain records in databases and hardcopies related to security actions.
- Conduct inspections and provide assistance visits as needed.
- Liaise with individuals from the DoD, the IC, and other officials to stay informed about current personnel.
- Interpret security policies related to the processing, sharing, and controlling of classified materials.
- Receive, control, and safeguard Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and collateral information.
- Serve as the liaison between NGA and other federal agencies and contractors.
- Conduct risk management surveys and provide impact statements or recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver briefings to internal and external customers and draft various forms of correspondence.
- Monitor and manage security operations while providing the government with status reports and decision recommendations.
- Apply experience with security concepts, principles, and practices to resolve complex issues.
- Provide security guidance to contractors based on DoD and IC regulations, analyzing complex data and making program commendations.
- Investigate and prepare impact statements related to security violations, providing recommendations as necessary.
- Prepare SCI Controlled Access Programs (CAP), Special Access Programs (SAP), Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM), and other materials for shipment to different sites according to security procedures.
- Draft outgoing classified messages regarding employees and contractors visiting other government facilities.
- Provide technical security expertise in one or more disciplines: personnel security, physical security, industrial security, computer investigations, or operations.
- Use security concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and resolve complex issues.
- Monitor security applications and review metrics as needed.
- Develop the necessary programs and operations to support requirements and tasks.
- Access Critical Nuclear Weapon Design Information (CNWDI) to indoctrinate or debrief customers supporting NGA’s GEOINT mission.
- Access Restricted Data (RD) for the same purpose.
- Manage Foreign Government Information (FGI) to support the Security Officer in NGA’s GEOINT mission.
- Obtain access to Special Access Program (SAP), Control Access Programs (CAP), and/or Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) information necessary for NGA’s sensitive programs.
- Assist stakeholders in implementing classification management efforts at the SCI and collateral levels by providing classified guidance, release procedures, and marking criteria.
- Share knowledge and experiences to promote effective practices and increase staff awareness of best practices.
- Provide timely classification management expertise to address complex classification issues.
- Maintain personal classification expertise through collaboration with ODNI and other classification management communities.
- Develop innovative techniques to train staff and ensure compliance with classification management policies.
- Participate in related training and informational briefings and assist in responding to agency taskers.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- An active TS/SCI clearance (with the ability to obtain a CI poly)
- Demonstrate 10 experience applying Executive Orders 12333,13526, and 13556, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) 703 & 710, and DoD Manual 5200.01 standards to classified national security information, controlled unclassified information, and information security.
- Demonstrate experience applying the requirements of the most recent edition of the Intelligence Community Markings System Register and Manual.\
Desired:
- 8 years of demonstrated experience in briefing and communicating with customers with effective written and oral communication skills.
- Possess Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
